Culture and Natural Heritage Day highlights themed exhibitions
A series of themed exhibitions are set to greet the public in celebration of this year's Cultural and Natural Heritage Day on June 8, aiming to enhance awareness about the protection of intangible cultural heritage, promote traditional Chinese culture, and foster a supportive social environment for safeguarding intangible cultural heritage, as stated by Li Xiaoliang, an official from the Department of Intangible Cultural Heritage at the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
The China Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum will host a thematic exhibition focusing on the preservation of intangible cultural heritage in China, organized into three distinct sections. Wang Chenyang, the Party secretary of the museum, highlighted that the first section will spotlight the protection and continuity of intangible cultural heritage projects from 2013 to March 2024, showcasing China's advancements in safeguarding intangible cultural heritage.
The exhibition will feature interactive zones, multimedia presentations, and performances by 100 national intangible cultural heritage inheritors to engage visitors, providing a rich and immersive experience. Concurrently, a cloud exhibition led by the China Association of Performing Arts and various online platforms like Tencent, iQIYI, Youku, Bilibili, Douyin, Kuaishou, and Weibo will be launched to attract wider public attention to the diverse intangible cultural heritage practices in daily life.
Furthermore, a photography exhibition themed "Beautiful Life in Intangible Cultural Heritage" will spotlight the beneficial impact of intangible cultural heritage in advancing overall economic and social development, fostering high-quality progress, and meeting the evolving needs of the populace for an improved quality of life.
