Brazilian professor shares perspectives on multipolar world
Marcus Vinicius De Freitas, hailing from Brazil, is a visiting professor at China Foreign Affairs University. He teaches Contemporary Challenges or Issues in Global Affairs, enabling students to get a better understanding of global events.
De Freitas says his history with China started when he was supervising students in Brazil, where he pushed his students to look into China and see how things were happening here, and he is impressed by the great transformation achieved by China over the years.
In his view, a major characteristic of China is the concept of peace and harmony, and the country’s commitment to this regard needs to be reflected. The global governance system needs to change to reflect the diversity of the world, according to De Freitas, adding that creating a more stable global order requires more people at the discussing table, rather than having one or two making the decisions and everyone else having to follow.
