Dubai event showcases China's ice and snow tourism
A special event took place in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, on Friday to showcase ice and snow tourism resources in Northeast China's Helongjiang and Liaoning provinces, as well as Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region.
The event is part of the two-month-long "Hello! China - China Ice and Snow Tourism Overseas Promotion Season" running through February. It's co-organized by the Network of International Culturalink Entities (NICE), the China Cultural Center in the UAE, and cultural and tourism bureaus of Xinjiang, Heilongjiang and Liaoning; and supported by International Tourism Alliance of Silk Road Cities.
Song Wei, deputy head of the Network of International Culturalink Entities, said at Friday's event: "2024 marks the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and the UAE." He expressed anticipation for deeper cultural and tourism cooperation between the two countries.
Liu Yang, head of the China Cultural Center in the UAE, emphasized that tourism resources in China and the UAE are highly different and complementary. He pointed out the broad prospects for tourism cooperation between the two nations.
"I hope this event will fully present the ice and snow tourism resources of northern China to people in the UAE, and allow tourism industry workers to tap into the huge potential of tourism cooperation between the two countries," said Liu.
Under the theme of "Continue the Glory of Ice and Snow Together", an exhibition at the event also showcased the enchanting facets of China's ice and snow culture.
The "Hello! China - China Ice and Snow Tourism Overseas Promotion Season" is a collaborative effort between the Network of International Culturalink Entities, the cultural and tourism bureau of nine provincial areas including Beijing, Hebei, Liaoning, Jilin and Heilongjiang, in partnership with overseas cultural and tourism institutions.
